Valdel Retail launches FamilyMart in B’lore

Valdel Retail Private Limited, a group company of Veldel group Private Limited, launched its first retail project – FamilyMart, in strategic partnership with Suiwah Corporation of Malaysia.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Wednesday M.J. Shantharaam, Managing Director, Valdel Group said the company is to source the textile & hosiery needs of Suiwah Corporation from India and the Malaysian company in turn would provide global sourcing from China, Malaysia, Indonesia etc.
Suiwah Corporation’s main business comprises of operating supermarkets and department stores in penang, Malaysia.
FamilyMart has been set up in south Bangalore with an investment of Rs.25 crore and would have 100,000 square feet of retailing area with store layout having ground plus one level. FamilyMart, which is expected to open during Diwali, has a book store, music store, a bakery, a photoshop and a beauty salon.
KSA TechnoPak were the consultants for the project.
The company has also come out with two brands concepts – Dailys (for daily needs) and Centra (department store). Accordingly to Mr. Shantharaam, based on the success of these two brands, the company would go out into residential localities to operate them as independent units.
