Vijay Times , Bangalore May 28, 2003
The M.S. Ramaiah Group has expanded into Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and has extended its thrust into retail sector in addition to its existing businesses of software development and engineering and construction.
The expansion will be under a new company – Valdel Group – which has been formed by consolidating Valdel Engineers & Constructors (formerly John Brown Technologies) AmSoft Information Services (IT services company), Valdel Retail (formerly Sun Mart) and Valdel’s BPO venture.
MSR Group will be investing a total of around Rs.35 crore for these expansions, with Rs.25 crore going in for retail sector and Rs.10 crore for the BPO foray. The group currently has a consolidated revenue of Rs.25 crore and is projecting to touch Rs.170 crore by 2005 with a staff strength of around 1300 people.
The formation of Valdel allows it to synergistically cross leverage each company’s strengths and exponentially increase the value delivered to stakeholders. |
